The 18th Annual Great PUPkin is Saturday, October 29, 2016!

The 18th Annual Great PUPkin Dog Costume Contest will take place in Fort Greene Park starting at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2016. Registration will open at 10:30 a.m. on the monument plaza. There’s a suggested donation of $5.00 per dog if you preregister through Eventbrite (available to the first 50 entrants only; Eventbrite registration opens on 1 October). Registration on the day-of-event will be $10, and will be limited to the 70 additional entrants. That’s right people, we are limiting the total number of entrants to 120 this year, so get your game on!

The largest dog costume event in Brooklyn will once again be held in conjunction with Fort Greene Park Conservancy's Halloween Fest for kids. We saw a record 167 costumed canines in last year’s contest. Read all about the 2015 Grand Prize winner in Fort Greene Focus, our official media sponsor.

Gothamist has tons of great galleries of photos. And you can explore photos from past contests on the official PUPS Flickr galleries and our Facebook page. You will find yet more photos on Fort Greene Focus and these beautiful illustrations from artist Carly Larsson. And for a real stroll down memory lane, check out blogger photos at Kate on Clinton and Kizzbeth's Flickr.

We will have some fantastic prizes once again for the 2016 contest, not to mention the coveted PUPkin rosettes!
